LAW ENFORCEMENT - POLICE CADET EXPLORER PROGRAM

Application for the program.

DULUTH POLICE DEPARTMENT

explorerThank you for your interest in the Duluth Police Cadet Explorer Program. The Law Enforcement Exploring Post is designed for young men and women who live in or near the city of Duluth, as a mentoring and training program for teens to become familiar with and involved in Law Enforcement; to further their knowledge and understanding of the criminal justice system through training; and to provide an insight into all phases of police work as a possible profession. The Cadet Exploring program is a community service program; the Explorers participate in many community events throughout the year. While actively becoming a part of their community the Explorers foster a better understanding between the Police Department and the youth of our City.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Duluth Police Cadet Explorer program strives to meet and fulfill the Duluth Police Department’s Mission Statement through community service and teamwork. “Our mission is to in partnership with the community, to provide effective, efficient and professional police services.”

Law Enforcement Exploring is a worksite-based program for young men and women who have completed the eighth grade and are 14 years of age, or are 15 years of age but have not yet reached their 21st birthday.

Law Enforcement Explorer posts help youth to gain insight into a variety of programs that offer hands-on career activities. For young men and women who are interested in careers in the field of law enforcement, Exploring offers experiential learning with lots of fun-filled, hands-on activities that promote the growth and development of adolescent youth."
