Community Relations - Citizen Police Academy
The next Citizen Police Academy will be taking place early June to August.

What is the Citizen Police Academy?
The Citizen Police Academy is a free program that offers citizens a first
hand look inside the Police Department. Participants will gain a better
understanding of how police officers perform their duties and how the Department
serves the community.
Citizen Police Academies across the country have resulted in increased
communication, trust and support between Police Departments and the communities
they serve. We hope that participants will be better informed so that they may
use the information to increase their safety, heighten their awareness and
become a more active member of their community.
What will be taught? Classes Include:

- Laws of Arrest
- Use of Force
- Mechanics of Arrest
- Search and Seizure
- Patrol Procedures
- Fraud and Forgery Detection through Forensics
- Court Room Mock Trial

Each participant will have a voluntary ride along
