Major Donald Woodruff

Major Donald L. Woodruff came to the City of Duluth Police Department in 1989 from the DeKalb County Sheriff Department, where he was the Training Officer. He is a native of Georgia and a U.S. Navy veteran.

Major Woodruff is certified by Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council as a Departmental Training Officer. He is also certified as a Senior Instructor with specialized certifications in: Firearms, Defensive Tactics, Health and Wellness, Emergency Medical Service, Chemical Weapons, Police Emergency Driving, Impact Weapons, and Speed Detective Devices. He is a member in good standing of the Georgia Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors, and a charter member of the Association of Defensive Tactics Instructors. He received his Executive Certification from Ga. POST in 1998.
