Captain Mark Hunter

Captain Hunter began his law enforcement career in Georgia with the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy Sheriff. In 1989 he joined the Duluth Police Department as a Patrol Officer. Later in 1989 he was transferred to the Criminal Investigations Division as a Detective. In 1990 he transferred to the Uniform Division as a Master Patrol Officer and in 1991 was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Captain Hunter remained in the Uniform Division as a watch commander until 1996 when he was transferred to the Criminal Investigations Division as the Division Commander, he was promoted to the rank of Captain in 1997. Captain Hunter’s responsibilities include management of the Criminal Investigations Division, Primary Property and Evidence Custodian, Coordinator of the Department’s Honor Guard and serves as a Departmental Instructor.
